Review by hotel critic
As a history professor with a penchant for exploring Poland's medieval towns, I recently had the pleasure of staying at the charming El Ciervo. Located conveniently for any historical adventure seeker, the hotel strikes a fine balance between luxury and value. The beautifully decorated interiors immediately evoke a sense of coziness, making you feel right at home rather than in a typical hotel. I was fortunate to enjoy a spacious room, likely due to an upgrade, which was fully equipped with modern amenities, including a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the breakfast. It rivals the best hotel breakfasts I’ve experienced, reminiscent of culinary offerings in Michelin-starred restaurants. The variety was impressive, and each dish was beautifully presented, a testament to Basque culinary traditions. El Ciervo combines comfort and quality at a budget-friendly price. With 24-hour reception and exceptional staff ready to assist with tours or ticket assistance, it truly caters to the needs of travelers. If you’re weighing luxury against value, El Ciervo makes a compelling case, especially for history enthusiasts like me who appreciate a good meal after a day of exploration.
